motivation
* why did i choose this topic?
- there is already a lot of material to work with and a lot of research has been made on dreams, from a psychological and neurological point of view to how it's been portrayed in media across history and cultures.

* how do i relate to it?
- it's something i've always been interested in but never got a chance to properly study.
- i will use my own dreams as one of the main practical research sources, since i can remember them very vividly.

* how does it relate with my major?
- as an animator and overall visual maker, i want to create scenes that i would like to see as a viewer.
- i want to play on the suspension of disbelief by mixing different aesthetics and techniques, then completely turn them around.

the main reason i started collecting some of these sources was to study the animation frames and sense of motion, but now i would also like to look at the broader image and start taking into consideration scene composition, timing and editing.

* what do i want to get out of this?
- creating an archive of surreal visuals that will inspire me (and hopefully others) to think outside the box and have a more experimental approach to narratives, editing and looser approaches to the animation principles in general.
relation
to
hacking
* what is my definition of hacking?
- to me, hacking is about studying a system in detail and finding ways of repurposing different aspects of it

* how does this topic relate to hacking?
- in order to convincingly depict dreams and surreal images, i have to experience and analyze them first-hand.
- the deeper my understanding towards the visualization of my own dreamscape is, the more authentic my recreation will be to outside viewers.
